Tour Itinerary

Day: 1

Arrival in Arusha

Program of the Day: When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by your driverguide or our representative. They will then take you to your accommodation in Arusha for an overnight stay. You can also take a complimentary city tour of Arusha with our guide if you have some time to spare. This is where all of your planning becomes a reality: your safari starts now. Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. After we greet you and answer any questions you might have, we'll take great pleasure in taking you out and showing you what we mean. Spend some time in Arusha, both the gateway city for most safaris in northern Tanzania and a fascinating place to explore. Enjoy good restaurants, streets filled with energy and so many snapshots of vibrant Tanzanian city life. It’s everything you look for in an urban pit stop.

Arusha National Park

Program of the Day: After breakfast, our tour guide driver will pick you up from the lodge and take you on a wonderful game drive in Arusha National Park, bringing along lunch boxes. After the game drive, you will do the walking safari in the park, which will allow you to see wild animals up close. Then we will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. You never forget your first view of Arusha National Park, with Mt Meru – one of the Rift Valley’s most beautiful mountains – rising above it. Once you get to know it a little better, you’ll also enjoy the wildlife – giraffe, zebra, buffalo and birdlife, with sightings of elephant and hippo possible too. There’s also Ngurdoto Crater, which they sometimes call ‘Little Ngorongoro’, such is its resemblance to the world-famous crater to the west. Scenery being the main attraction is a nice alternative to the more wildlife-focused parks elsewhere.

Walking safari, Arusha National Park

Come with us on a walking safari, where you'll enjoy the thrill of stepping out into the African wild with an experienced guide. Although you won't be watching the animals from a vehicle, it's still very safe, and it's a priceless opportunity to feel really connected to the animals you'll see and the landscapes you'll explore in a whole new way.

Tarangire National Park

Program of the Day: After breakfast, our tour guide driver will pick you up from the lodge and take you on a wonderful game drive in Tarangire National Park, bringing along lunch boxes. After the game drive, we will transfer to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. Wherever you go in Tarangire National Park, you’ll come across the park’s famous and larger-than-life baobab trees and elephants. These are the twin elements that give this park so much personality. There is, of course, so much more. We don’t just mean the huge populations of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras. Or the rugged landscape of rocky hills and rivers, swamps and savannah plains. You also have an excellent chance of seeing lions here – Tarangire is a real lion stronghold – and keep an eye out for leopards and cheetahs as well.

Lake Manyara National Park

Program of the Day: After breakfast, we will head to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive with a packed lunch. After an exciting game drive and enjoying the park's natural beauty, we will transfer you to a lodge or hotel in Lake Natron for relaxation, dinner, and your overnight stay. You're going to love Lake Manyara National Park because it promises experiences you just can't get elsewhere. For example, this is one of the most compact parks in Tanzania's north: the park consists of a narrow strip of forest shadowed by vast Lake Manyara on one side and the cliffs of the Rift Valley escarpment on the other. The park is known for its large elephant and baboon populations, and part of the excitement of visiting here is never quite knowing when you're going to come face-toface with an elephant. And then there are the tree-climbing lions for which the park is famous: this is one of very few places in Africa where lions routinely climb (and spend much of their time up in) trees.

Lake Natron

Program of the Day: After breakfast, we will head to Lake Natron with packed lunch boxes. After an exciting arrival at Lake Natron, you will enjoy the lake's natural beauty and engage in various activities, including flamingo walks, bird watching, exploring Laetori footprints, and a possible day hike at Oldonyo Lengai if time allows. Then we will transfer you to a lodge for relaxation, dinner, and your overnight stay.

Karatu

Enjoy quiet, little Karatu. Its busy main street is a window on urban life in a small provincial town, but it’s much quieter just a few blocks away from the main road. Shop, go to the bank or simply walk the streets – all are possible here.

This tribe is famous for hunting, so you will have the opportunity to go hunting with them and observe their techniques. After visiting the Hadzabe, you will be taken to another tribe called the Datoga tribe, known for their expertise in blacksmithing. Additionally, you will have the chance to take a walk around Lake Eyasi and visit a local village to experience an authentic African lifestyle. After these activities, you will be taken back to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. Lake Eyasi allows you to escape the safari crowds. Here you can enjoy the views of the lake, Kidero Mountains and the Eyasi escarpment. Lake Eyasi is also a special place for the traditional Hadzabe people who live in the area.

Serengeti National Park

Program of the Day: After breakfast, we will depart for Southern Serengeti National Park (Ndutu Plains) for an amazing and beautiful game drive. We will enjoy lunch at a suitable place inside the park and continue the game drive activity in the afternoon before reaching the lodge. Serengeti National Park is well-known for its great migrating herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest. We will spend the next Three nights in Southern Serengeti. Be ready to see resident predators such as leopards, cheetahs, and lions fulfilling their role in the circle of life. Unesco World Heritage–listed Serengeti National Park will almost certainly be one of the highlights of your safari, and it's the kind of place that very quickly becomes a favorite. That's partly because of the wildlife: this is one of the best places anywhere to see lions, leopards and cheetahs. Although every big cat sighting is special, they're only a part of the story here: there's a good chance you'll also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes and spotted hyenas and much more. Many travelers' love affair with the Serengeti is also because of its landscapes: expect vast savannah grasslands, acacia trees and pretty hill country. The Southern Serengeti is filled with wildlife (including big cats), and the scenery is among the best in the park, including savannah grasslands, acacia trees and rocky outcrops.

Ngorongoro Highlands

Program of the Day: After breakfast, we will head to Ngorongoro Highland for a game drive and bring a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we will proceed to Olduvai Gorge and Museum, where you will explore the cradle of humankind. After the game drive, we will transfer you to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.  High in the Ngorongoro Highlands, you can expect beautiful views, dense forests and cool temperatures. Apart from Ngorongoro Crater, there are plenty of dramatic land formations, with steep-walled craters and high, rocky summits a feature. Watch for wildlife also in the forests, including elephants, buffaloes and, if you're extremely lucky, leopards.

Visit Olduvai Gorge & Museum, Olduvai Gorge

You're going to visit Olduvai Gorge, where archaeologists in the 1950s and 1960s discovered fossils that forever changed our knowledge of human origins. You'll also visit the fine museum, which overlooks the gorge and which is a journey of discovery through the human story, beginning at the earliest days of humankind. The museum also has other finds from around the country.

Ngorongoro Crater

Program of the Day: After breakfast, we will head to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive and bring a picnic lunch. Then, we will visit the Maasai communities residing in Ngorongoro Crater for an authentic cultural experience. After the game drive, we will transfer you to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.  Your day in and around Ngorongoro Crater could just be one of the most memorable of your whole safari. You’ll explore the crater rim and then drive down onto the crater floor, where the critically endangered black rhinos are the stars of an astonishing wildlife show. You’ll almost certainly see large-tusked elephants, at least one of the Ngorongoro’s four lion prides, and wandering clans of spotted hyenas. It also just happens to be one of Africa’s most beautiful corners, a hidden world where you’ll be surrounded by steep, deep-green crater walls, a salt lake, forests and hippo-filled waterways.
