Program of the Day: After breakfast, our tour guide driver will pick you up from the lodge early in the morning and we will start a fantastic journey to Tarangire National Park with packed lunch boxes. Tarangire Park is well known for its large elephant herds and consists of a diversity of landscapes, from seasonal swamps to savannas with the Tarangire River winding its way through, providing opportunities to see leopards relaxing in the trees above.
Once the game drives are done, we will head back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay. After dinner, you will be picked up for the night game drive Explore one of Tanzania’s most rewarding national parks, a land of big baobab trees, big elephants and big cats. No wonder this ends up being the favourite park in Tanzania for many visitors. Sightings of wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes, baboons, vervet monkeys and zebras are also almost guaranteed. Lions are plentiful here – Tarangire is home to one of Tanzania’s healthiest lion populations. While you’ll have to work a little harder to see a cheetah or leopard, it will only enhance your excitement when you do. You can also look forward to classic safari scenery – savannah plains, river woodlands and rocky hills.
In the busy provincial town of Karatu, with its constant stream of passing tourist traffic, the many places to stay mean you can rest from life on the road here. It’s big enough to have banks, shops (for both supplies and souvenirs) and a few roadside restaurants where locals eat.
